SRM Institute of Science and Technology is one of the top ranking universities in India with over 52,000 full time students and more than 3200 faculty across all the campuses – Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani Campus – all in and around Chennai, Tiruchirappalli (in TN), Modinagar (in UP) & Sonepat (in Haryana) – both of which are located near Delhi NCR, Amaravati (in AP), Gangtok (in Sikkim) – offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in six Faculties – Engineering & Technology, Management, Medicine & Health sciences, Science & Humanities, Law and Agricultural Sciences.

About The Department

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering was started in the year 2007-08. The scope of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering is vast and is fast growing to cater the needs of manufacturing and process automation industries. The Department has been accredited by the IET accreditation board (UK) and has been recognized by the IASC – Sector Skill Council – Affiliated to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India in 2018.

A Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Factory automation has been established in partnership with Mitsubishi Electric. Our Department faculty & students have 63 patent grants, published more than 90 patents and have received funding of about Rs.2 Cr, sanctioned through funded projects by agencies like DST, SERB, BRNS and MHRD. Student projects are channelized in to patentable products wherein students and faculty are motivated to initiate start-ups to commercialize 100+inventions and prototype models. The department houses IoT Innovation lab sponsored by Edgate Technologies, under Texas Instruments University Program (TIUP), AI Digital Twin club, LabVIEW club and ARDUINO club to give practical training to current academic student batches for their upskill development. As a result, the department has maintained a track record of 85% placement till 2021 batch and a striking 100% placement of batch 2022. A strong alumni network of about 2500 students have been formed and about 300+ Alumni have successfully completed SAP program in various prestigious institutions (UC Davis, UC Berkeley, Taiwan, San Diego, Illinois to name a few).

About The Event

NOMIZO'24 is an exciting national-level symposium hosted by the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. Scheduled for the 29th and 30th of August, this two-day event offers a dynamic mix of innovation and hands-on learning, with key events including a Robot Soccer competition, Research Paper Presentations, a challenging Code Debugging contest, and inventive Arduino projects. We, the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at SRMIST Kattankulathur, warmly invite participants from across the nation to join us in this stimulating and competitive environment.
